Auspex Afrique (AA) is a South African-based subcontractor specializing in field-based avifaunal data collection for renewable energy developments. AA provides trained bird observers under fixed-term contracts to environmental consultancies, contributing to pre-construction ecological assessments for renewable energy facilities. Specific scope of each contract is defined in collaboration with the environmental consultancy and is unique to the data needs for each project.

• Structure: Modular project teams led by a Field Coordinator and overseen by a QA Officer

• Resources: GPS units, datasheets (BirdLife SA), PPE, and calibrated optical equipment

• For each unique project there are clear scope and data requirements which are negotiated and agreed in contract between the client and Auspex Afrique

• we ensure implementation of best practice research protocols, well designed templates, and integrated reporting to ensure accuracy and efficiency as well as true independence

• We are responsible for sourcing, guiding, co-ordinating and monitoring the field researchers

  We own the source data, which can assist researchers to build a valuable database of avifaunal activity over time.

• We verify and authorize the release of biodiversity monitoring outputs, ensuring they meet defined requirements and stakeholder expectations, in alignment with ISO 9001:2015
